Gustine Fire Department – Gustine, CA

Gustine Fire Department is staffed by Gustine volunteers and Merced County paid firefighters, operating out of the same firehouse. They are preserving their 1933 Seagrave Model 6DBT pump and hose car with booster tank, serial #75510, still in its factory-original paint and gold-leaf. It appears in several local parades every year. Gustine Fire Department exemplifies the spirit of the SPAAMFAA Pteservation Award. In addition to the 1933 Seagrave, they are also still preserving their 1913 hand-drawn hose reel, and their 1966 Crown Firecoach 1250 GPM pumper #F-1457. The Van Pelt Chapter nominated Gustine Fire Dept. for this award in 2022. SPAAMFAA District 3 Trusteee Ed Hass presented this award at the Gustine City Council meeting on February 6, 2024. Gustine Fire Chief Pat Borrelli, and six of his volunteer and paid firefighters, were present for the meeting, Gustine's 1933 Seagrave and 1966 Crowmn were parked in front of City Hall.
