This is Louisburg Fire Department's first motorized apparatus purchased. It was repurchased for $15,000 from Jackie Lee, the third of a string of three private owners who had owned the truck after the fire department removed it from service and sold it in 1952. The truck underwent a complete frame-off restoration performed by Dennis Moser of Allied Welding in North Wilkesboro, NC. in 2017-2019. The department has the original operator's manual that came with the truck. In December 2021, the truck was revealed to the town citizens at a dedication ceremony of the town's new fire museum where it is on permanent display. The fire truck participates in town parades and events.
The Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America (SPAAMFAA) is an organization of people dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and operation of antique fire apparatus.
