This unit was manufactured by the U.S. Fire Apparatus Co., located in Wilmington, De. Purchase price at the time was $3500.00. It served them until 1956 when is was sold for $350.00 and its whereabouts unknown for about 35 years. It 1991 it was found in an orchard in Hockessin, Delaware and the owner donated it back to the department as long as it was restored. In the fall of 1993 Delmarva Refurbishing, Trappe, Maryland took on the job to restore this rig to its original condition, and was returned to the fire company to use as a parade piece and for fire prevention activities in January of 1995.
